Ramifications traces the ongoing consequences of how we live—the subtle shifts, fractures, and deep impacts that ripple through both the natural world and our inner landscapes. While the word often carries a negative connotation, Gillian’s work exposes the full spectrum of what unfolds: how beauty grows out of unease, how joy and contentment disrupt the weight of our realities, and how restoration insists on happening within the fractures. Yet against these structural weights sits an active defiance: fragments of time, non-conformity, and linguistic play where we reclaim ourselves from external control. Through layered marks, text fragments, and shifting forms, the work tracks how meaning warps as our environment changes—and how responding to these inevitable fractures strips away illusion to reveal our absolute, inescapable interdependence.
