My practice is a deliberate departure from the rapid gratification of the contemporary world—holding space for a quiet, intentional sojourn. Operating as a conceptual language artist, creations are born entirely from the word. Every piece begins as an investigation of text and narrative, allowing the poetry to dictate its own material body—whether expanding into three-dimensional space, layering across printed or painted surfaces, or unfolding through structural book forms.

I use strategies of beauty and visual choreography to draw people in, inviting a prolonged, intimate examination. Yet beneath these inviting aesthetics lies a steady commitment to unvarnished truth. The weight of these ramifications operates on both a global and deeply intimate scale, interrogating the relationships we have with society, with each other, with the natural world, and with the internal complexities of how we relate to ourselves.

In works like my poem ‘Let us Rejoice’—which critiques our national myths—lines like “the burra’s echo haunts the air, competes with dozers stripping bare” document the collision between relentless acquisition and the natural world. Ultimately, to walk gently is an act of resilient non-conformity, standing as a calm, uncompromised witness to our absolute and inescapable interdependence.
